Date: 24 November 2009Brief Description:
Australian owned and operated, NightOwl Convenience will support the 2009 Surf Life Saving Queensland Appeal and national ‘Boardies Day’ this Friday 27 November, by raising money to buy new equipment for surf clubs throughout Queensland.
Description:
As part of the fundraising initiative, NightOwl will donate $10,000 to the Channel 9 Surf Safe Appeal on Friday evening, while NightOwl Franchisees and Support Centre team members will assist manning the phone lines in the Channel 9 Brisbane studio.
NightOwl Franchisees, staff and Support Centre team members will also wear their boardies to work this Friday, with their gold coin donations and 15 cents from every bottle of NightOwl spring water sold donated to Surf Life Saving QLD.
Marketing Manager Grant Peck said NightOwl’s involvement with the Surf Life Saving Appeal and Boardies day is an exciting, fun way to support our volunteer surf lifesavers and help raise much needed funds for the worthwhile charity.
“I encourage all Queenslanders to get behind this fundraising initiative and purchase NightOwl and SLSQ water or make a gold coin donation in the Surf Life Saving tins to help raise money for a worthy cause,” he said.
“You will find our staff dressed for the occasion and getting into the spirit of the day while raising money for their local surf clubs.
Acting SLSQ chief executive officer John Brennan said community partnerships with companies such as NightOwl’s were integral to the movement’s ability to raise awareness and funds for its volunteer lifesaving services.
“Funds raised will help provide our lifesavers with the equipment and training to do what they do best – save lives!” he said.
